IIRPS is an academic and cultural organization that promotes research and studies in historic preservation both in the US and abroad. It is based in New York City is incorporated in the State of New York (USA) as an LLC .

It was created in 2010 to provide a legal and administrative vehicle for a series of academic and research programs. Presently, our main activities are sponsoring field projects, field schools and cultural tours in Italy and in Greece.

This organization is the fruit of 16 years of academic and research activities performed by a group of scholars and academic organizations working in the fields of historic preservation, restoration and archaeology.The organization has its roots in programs that were originally organized as part of the The School of Architecture and Urban Planning at Uiniversity of Wisconsin - Milwaukee.
